Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using La Copa Mundo ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use means you accept the updated terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use La Copa Mundo. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older. If we find out a user is under 13, we will terminate the account and delete their data as required by COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).

3. What La Copa Mundo Is

La Copa Mundo is an independent fan platform for the 2026 World Cup. We provide match schedules, city guides, AI-powered fan assistance (El Capi™), social groups, and prediction games (La Quiniela). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to FIFA, any national futbol association, or any host city. Built by fans, for fans.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up to date. Sharing accounts is not permitted. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

La Copa Mundo is a community built on respect and sportsmanship. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

• Hate speech, racism, xenophobia, or discrimination of any kind
• Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of other users
• Sharing illegal content or promoting illegal activities
• Spam, scams, phishing, or commercial solicitation
• Impersonating other users, public figures, or organizations
• Attempting to exploit, hack, or abuse any platform feature
• Any behavior that ruins the fun for others

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Serious violations may be reported to relevant authorities.

6. AI Features (El Capi™)

El Capi is an AI-powered fan assistant. Responses are generated by AI and may contain inaccuracies. El Capi provides entertainment and general information only, not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. We are not responsible for actions you take based on AI-generated content. Conversation data may be used to improve the service.

7. La Quiniela (Prediction Pools)

La Quiniela is a free social prediction game for entertainment and bragging rights only. No money is collected, held, processed, or distributed by La Copa Mundo. We are not a gambling, betting, or wagering platform. If users make private side bets among themselves, that happens entirely outside this Platform and we have no involvement in it. By using La Quiniela, you acknowledge that participation is for entertainment purposes only.

8. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you create (messages, predictions, profile info). By posting content on the Platform, you grant La Copa Mundo a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute that content within the Platform. We may remove any content that violates these terms. We are not responsible for user-generated content.

9. Intellectual Property

The La Copa Mundo name, logo, El Capi™ character, and platform design are the property of La Copa Mundo. FIFA, World Cup, and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners. Team names, flags, and emblems are used for informational fan purposes only.

10. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these terms or to protect the platform and its community. You can delete your account anytime from the Delete Account section on your Profile page. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your data within 30 days.

11. Disclaimers

La Copa Mundo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of match schedules, scores, city information, or AI-generated content, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted service availability. Use the Platform at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, La Copa Mundo and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including data loss, service interruptions, AI response inaccuracies, or financial arrangements made through La Quiniela pools.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless La Copa Mundo, its operators, affiliates, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any content you submit to the Platform.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Brevard County, Florida.

15. Dispute Resolution

For disputes under $10,000, you agree to first try to resolve things informally by emailing legal@lacopamundo.com. If we can't work it out within 30 days, either side may pursue binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association (Consumer Arbitration Rules) in Brevard County, Florida. For disputes over $10,000, either side may go to the courts listed in the Governing Law section. All proceedings are on an individual basis, not as a class action.

16. Copyright & DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on our Platform infringes your copyright, send a DMCA takedown notice to legal@lacopamundo.com with: a description of the copyrighted work, where the infringing material is on our Platform, your contact information, a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you're authorized to act for the copyright owner. We'll respond to valid notices promptly.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
