The Minerva roundabout and Chapultepec Avenue are celebration central. Tlaquepaque has an amazing atmosphere with live music and food. Mariachi Plaza is the iconic gathering spot. The whole city becomes a festival during tournaments.
Tourist areas in GDL are safe. Use registered taxis or ride apps. The city is known for being friendly and welcoming. Stay hydrated — the climate is warm and semi-arid. Basic Spanish goes a long way here as fewer people speak English than in CDMX.
Tequila is only 60km away — day trips to the agave fields and distilleries are a must. Tlaquepaque and Tonalá are incredible for handcrafted souvenirs. Guachimontones pyramids are a lesser-known archaeological gem. The city's craft beer scene is booming.
